Total Safety was honored as a partner sponsor during the Valero Benefit For Children (Valero BFC) welcome reception on Sunday, March 29, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas. Total Safety has supported this charity event for many years.
It’s all about the children.
What began as a small golf tournament to benefit a San Antonio charity is today a nationwide effort to improve the lives of children. The Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children Golf Classic, a project of the Valero Energy Foundation, has proudly delivered millions of dollars to children’s charities across the United States since Valero’s title sponsorship began in 2002.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, funds are distributed to children’s charities in the communities where Valero has major operations. The result is a network of strong, well-supported agencies with the means to help thousands of disadvantaged, abused and neglected children. “Total Safety is proud to support this worthy cause,” said Chief Operating Officer Paul Tyree.
Each year thousands of companies throughout the oil and gas Industry come together for the Valero BFC. “It not only supports a great cause,” Tyree noted, “it also offers a great opportunity to network with key decision makers in our market from all across the nation.”
Troy Thacker, Tyree and others from our senior leadership team attended the welcome reception in San Antonio, where the remarkable achievements of this important fund-raising event were highlighted.
This year the Valero BFC reached an extraordinary milestone reaching a cumulative total of $100 million in proceeds. The announcement was the highlight of the evening and included a celebratory fireworks display. Total Safety congratulates Valero for reaching this goal.
