Houston – April 27, 2009
Total Safety, the leading global provider of integrated industrial safety services and equipment, received three highly coveted award nominations. The safety services company was nominated for two Houston Business Journal awards: the 2009 Best CFO Awards and their Healthcare Heroes Awards. The Houston chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) nominated Total Safety for their 2009 Crystal Awards.
2009 Best CFO Awards
The Houston Business Journal’s third annual Best CFOs of the Year recognizes financial professionals who, quoting the Houston Business Journal, keep “track of the American Dream.” Total Safety’s Chief Financial Officer, Dennis Turnipseed, was nominated in the Mid-Cap Private Company category along with 4 other finalists.
The Houston-area publication recognized Turnipseed, who has worked with Total Safety for 2 years, for his outstanding performance in his role as a corporate financial steward.
“I speak for the entire team when I say we are very proud of Dennis and sincerely honored by this prestigious nomination. We, at Total Safety, have always known of Dennis’ extraordinary contributions to our team. Now, I’m pleased that his peers have an insight into that as well,” said David E. Fanta, Total Safety President and CEO.
Healthcare Heroes Awards
The Houston Business Journal’s first annual Healthcare Heroes Awards honor those who serve, innovate and save lives. Total Safety’s Remote/Offshore Paramedic Bryan Hofmann was the only nominee in the First Responder category.
Hofmann’s diverse background includes serving as a combat medic in Iraq, working on a peacekeeping mission in Kosovo and coordinating the treatment of over 30,000 people at the New Orleans Superdome during Hurricane Katrina.
“There is no question that countless people have benefited from Bryan’s selfless service in the military and civilian worlds. At Total Safety he continues his unwavering dedication by always putting his patients first to provide expert medical care to offshore oil & gas workers who would otherwise have no access to medical treatment,” said Paul Tyree, Total Safety Vice President U.S. Operations.
2009 Crystal Awards
The Houston chapter of the AMA recognizes companies who produce and achieve positive, measurable and definable marketing campaigns in 2008. Total Safety was nominated in the Magazine Campaign category for its Promise Badge campaign.
Throughout the year-long advertising campaign, the Promise Badge, which was chosen because of its association with honor, trust and power, was incorporated into specific safety products; hence, it became the body of a fire extinguisher, the face of a breathing mask, the sensor on a gas detector and the compartment of a Swiss army knife.
